CBI Summons Four Calcutta Police Officers, Including Two Inspectors

Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, September 16, 2024, Kolkata: The CBI has summoned four officers from the Calcutta Police, including two inspectors, in connection with the investigation of a high-profile case at RG Kar Hospital.
This move follows initial allegations of negligence and mishandling of the investigation by local police.

The CBI’s action suggests that there may be a larger conspiracy involved.

The officers, including two sub-inspectors, are believed to be linked to the case, which has raised speculation that the investigation could reveal new dimensions to the situation.
The case centers on the alleged rape and murder of a young student-doctor at RG Kar Hospital, which occurred on August 9. Allegations have surfaced that evidence was tampered with following the incident.
The post-mortem report and the hasty cremation of the victim’s body have intensified scrutiny.

The situation at RG Kar Hospital remains tense, with ongoing protests, a strike by junior doctors, and continued disruptions at the hospital.

The CBI’s intervention underscores growing concerns about the handling of the case and the possibility of uncovering a broader conspiracy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Criticizes Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Government in Rally for Assembly Elections

Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, 16 September 2024, New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government during a rally in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, as part of the campaign for the upcoming assembly elections.

Addressing a large public gathering, Modi criticized Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his government. He said, “Jharkhand is gradually turning into a haven for crime. Even women are not safe in this state. The people of Jharkhand are living in fear due to growing infiltration.” He further claimed that the influence of Congress had infiltrated the JMM. “Whenever the Congress influences a party, that party loses its sense of purpose,” Modi said, adding that the JMM government has aligned itself with Bangladeshis and Rohingyas. He also accused the government of indulging in appeasement politics.

During the rally, the Prime Minister highlighted the issue of infiltration, stating, “The Jharkhand High Court constituted a panel to investigate infiltration and ordered a transparent inquiry. However, the current government is reluctant to acknowledge the problem. The infiltration of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas in regions like Santhal Parganas and Kalahandi is a significant issue, and as a result, the demographic structure of the state is changing.” His remarks were a strong indictment of the JMM government.

The upcoming assembly elections in several states, including Jharkhand and Jammu & Kashmir, hold great significance for Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, especially after the BJP’s underwhelming performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections. Regaining control of Jharkhand is now a key priority for the BJP, which is determined to reclaim power in the state.

Along with the rally, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated several projects in Jharkhand, including six new Bharat Express trains. However, a roadshow scheduled in Jamshedpur was canceled due to inclement weather.

Vande Bharat Express: A Political and Developmental Lifeline for India

Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, September 15, 2024, New Delhi :  In a significant push for infrastructural development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated multiple new Vande Bharat Express trains from Jamshedpur on Sunday. The launch is being hailed as a vital step in enhancing connectivity and boosting industrial growth across India. The high-speed Vande Bharat trains, often referred to as the lifeline of India’s modern rail network, aim to significantly reduce travel time between key cities.

Meanwhile, at Howrah Station, a related event was attended by BJP’s West Bengal state president Sukanta Majumder and Union Minister of State for Education. The occasion was not just a celebration of the new trains but also turned into a platform for political statements. Majumder praised the central government’s efforts, highlighting how the Vande Bharat Express symbolizes both progress and innovation in the country’s transport infrastructure. However, he used the event to criticize the state government, raising concerns about West Bengal’s participation in this development.
Majumder accused the state government, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, of not fully supporting the central initiatives. “While the Vande Bharat Express is set to accelerate industrial development in the region, the real question is whether the state government will cooperate in realizing its full potential,” Majumder stated, casting doubt on the efficiency and cooperation of Banerjee’s administration.

In his speech, Majumder did not hold back from taking political jabs at the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC). Referring to the recent arrest of the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tala Police Station, he provocatively remarked, “It remains to be seen whether the arrest will lead to any real accountability or if it will merely end up at someone’s doorstep without consequences.” His comment was seen as a veiled reference to the upper echelons of the state government.

The BJP leader also took the opportunity to question why the Chief Minister had not yet replaced the current Commissioner of Police, a subject of much political debate. On the ongoing doctors’ protest in the state, Majumder clarified the BJP’s position, stating, “We are not involved in the protest directly, but we support it from the outside.”

The event’s tone shifted from a celebration of the Vande Bharat Express to a political battleground. While railway officials were present for the formal inauguration, many appeared uncomfortable with the political overtones. The event was meant to mark a new chapter in railway development, but the discourse seemed to underscore the deep political divide between the BJP-led central government and the Trinamool Congress-led state government.

Despite the political back-and-forth, the Vande Bharat Express continues to be a symbol of India’s rapid modernization. As more trains are rolled out, connecting cities across the country, the focus remains on how these advancements will contribute to the nation’s economic growth. However, the political narrative surrounding its launch in West Bengal reflects the ongoing tensions between the state and central governments, raising questions about future cooperation in development initiatives.

The launch of the new Vande Bharat trains is a step forward for India, but whether the political rhetoric will hinder or enhance its success in West Bengal remains to be seen.

Arvind Kejriwal Announces Resignation Amidst Legal Controversies

Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, September 15, 2024, Delhi: In a dramatic turn of events, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced his resignation from the post of Chief Minister. This decision comes shortly after he was granted bail by the court under stringent conditions.

Kejriwal’s resignation announcement has been made in the midst of ongoing controversies and legal battles. He revealed that he would officially step down in two days and stated that he would consider returning to his position only if he is re-elected by the people of Delhi. This move is seen as unprecedented in Indian politics, where a Chief Minister has opted to step down amid legal issues rather than hold onto the position.

Arvind Kejriwal had been under intense scrutiny following his involvement in the Delhi Excise corruption case. Recently, he was released on bail after facing arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED). The bail was granted under several restrictions that significantly impacted his ability to perform his duties.

According to the court’s orders, Kejriwal is barred from signing any official documents, visiting his office, or publicly commenting on the excise case. These restrictions have been imposed to ensure that he does not interfere with the ongoing investigation or influence the legal proceedings.

Despite these constraints, Kejriwal had initially chosen to retain his position as Chief Minister even after his arrest, an action that was unusual in Indian political history. His decision to step down now reflects his response to the legal challenges and the conditions placed upon him.

It is also noteworthy that Kejriwal was previously granted bail specifically to campaign for his party during the Lok Sabha elections. Following the elections, he returned to Tihar Jail, further complicating his political and legal situation.

As Delhi navigates through this period of uncertainty, the focus will now shift to the upcoming political dynamics and how Kejriwal’s resignation will impact the administration and governance of the national capital.

CBI Uncovers Mistakes in Kolkata Police’s Case File: Investigation Continues

Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, September 15, 2024, Kolkata: As investigations into the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital case continue, new developments are emerging. The brutal rape and murder of a female doctor at the RG Kar Medical College on August 9 has once again raised questions about the safety of women.

Initially, Kolkata Police had arrested a civic volunteer, Sanjay Rai, in connection with this horrific incident. However, the case took a significant turn last Saturday night when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two more individuals: Tala Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abhijit Mondal and former Principal of RG Kar Hospital, Sandeep Ghosh. This brings the total number of arrests in this case to three.

The CBI has recently discovered multiple errors in the Kolkata Police’s case file, which they believe might unravel further mysteries. The central investigative agency is now planning to interrogate a high-ranking police officer via video conferencing as part of their ongoing probe.

During their investigation, CBI officials identified a series of discrepancies in the case diary maintained by the Kolkata Police. According to reports, these mistakes have led the CBI to question the integrity of the initial investigation. The CBI suspects that issues began as early as the start of the investigation and that these errors were not merely accidental but potentially indicative of deeper problems.

From August 9 to August 13, the CBI has been scrutinizing the call details of various police officials involved in the case. This thorough examination has brought several new findings to light, adding complexity to the investigation.

As the CBI continues to delve deeper into the case, the public and media remain on edge, hoping for answers and justice for the victim.

In a dramatic move, Chief Minister Banerjee took to the protest stage to address the junior doctors directly. She announced a significant decision: the dissolution of the Patient Welfare Society at RG Kar Medical College, as well as the dissolution of similar societies across all medical colleges in the state.

Congress Accused of Harassing India Today Journalist in America

Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, September 14, 2024 — An India Today journalist has faced allegations of harassment in the United States, with Congress workers implicated in the incident. This controversy has prompted a strong response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has criticized the Congress party in a recent speech.

During an election rally in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Modi condemned the Congress, accusing it of hypocrisy and brutality. He described the party’s professed commitment to love and harmony as a façade, stating, “Congress has always indulged in brutality.” He further criticized Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, labeling his “Mohabbat Ki Dukan” as merely a cover for the party’s true nature.

The allegations stem from an incident involving India Today journalist Rohit Sharma, who was reportedly harassed by Congress workers while conducting an interview with Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda in Dallas. The harassment occurred in the context of Sharma’s questions about attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Congress activists are said to have not only objected to the questioning but also confiscated Sharma’s phone and deleted a 30-minute video of the interview.

In response, Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda has publicly disassociated himself from the incident, stating that the party does not support such actions. The incident has sparked a broader debate about freedom of the press and the conduct of political parties in the US and India.

Reports stated that a journalist from India Today, Rohit Sharma, was assaulted by Congress workers last week in Dallas, Texas, during Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the US. Sharma had traveled to cover the visit and was attacked after raising a question about the killing of Hindus in Bangladesh following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government.

Sharma was interviewing Indian Overseas Congress Chairman Sam Pitroda at the DFW International Airport when he asked if Rahul Gandhi would address the issue of Hindus being killed in Bangladesh during his meetings with US lawmakers. The question triggered a hostile reaction from 20-30 Congress supporters present at the scene.

The supporters created chaos, assaulted Sharma, seized his phone, and deleted the video of the interview. Despite Pitroda’s attempt to downplay the situation by stating it was up to Gandhi and the lawmakers to decide on relevant issues, the Congress workers forcibly stopped the recording and deleted the footage.

Sharma recounted the ordeal, describing how the workers, who checked his phone and iCloud, made desperate efforts to erase any trace of the interview. He initially resisted but was ultimately forced to delete the interview. Despite considering involving the police, Sharma opted to notify Pitroda, who suggested rescheduling the interview, though it never materialized.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions and issues related to press freedom, especially regarding sensitive topics. The attack on Sharma, who was performing his journalistic duties, has drawn criticism and raised concerns about the treatment of journalists covering political events.

Doctors Attempt to Gang-Rape Nurse in Private Hospital in Bihar’s Gangapur

Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, September 13, 2024 – The outcry over Tilottama’s rape and murder at RG Kar Hospital has yet to subside, and now another horrific incident has come to light, this time in Gangapur, Bihar. A nurse was allegedly the victim of an attempted gang-rape by doctors at a private hospital, sparking outrage in the area.

According to sources, one of the alleged perpetrators is a doctor at the hospital and also one of its administrators. The accused doctor reportedly attacked the nurse, but she managed to escape after a brave act of self-defense. She hit the doctor’s private parts with a blade, causing him to bleed profusely, and fled the scene.

The incident took place on Wednesday night at RBS Healthcare Center in Gangapur. The nurse had just finished her shift and was preparing to go home when Dr. Sanjay Kumar, an administrator of the hospital, along with two of his colleagues, allegedly assaulted her. She hid in a field near the hospital and called the police from there.

Police arrived promptly and rescued the nurse. Following a search, they arrested Dr. Sanjay Kumar and his two accomplices.
